She was born 31st May, 1965, in New York, USA in the family of Frank Shields (Revlon executive) and the model Teri Shields. Brooke has a sister called Marina and two marriages behind her back: one of them with the legend Andre Agassi. Presently, she is married to Chris Henchy (TV writer ). Her career of a professional model begins too early - at 3 she is already on the dais. Since then, her face decorates the covers of numerous magazines and posters. The most blessed with her appearance are Time magazine and Life magazine. At 9 she gets her first role in Holy Terror. Later she is recognized for: Louis Malles� Pretty Baby, the Palme D�or Award winner at the Cannes Film Festival, and Franco Zeferilli�s Blue Lagoon . Brooke has worked with celebrities such as: Susan Sarandon, Shelly Winters, Henry and Peter Fonda, George Burns, Charles Durning, and Hal Holbrook. Recently she has starred in movies such as: The Weekend with Gena Rowlands, Black and White with Robert Downey Jr., The Bachelor with Chris O�Donnell, and After Sex. Brooke Shields graduates from Princeton University , where she meets her true love - theatre - for the first time. Later, she makes her Broadway debut as Rizzo in the hit musical Grease earning the Theatre World Award in 1994 for Outstanding Debut on Broadway. Shields is given numerous recognitions and awards. In 1997 and 1998 she is nominated for Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series � Musical or Comedy, as well as for The American Comedy Awards� Funniest Female Performer in a Television Series � Leading Role . The long listing of awards is complemented with: five People�s Choice Awards � Favorite Young Performer in 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984 and Favorite Female Performer in a New Television Series in 1997. In 1999 she wins Genii Award for Outstanding Success in Television, Stellar Achievements in Television Performances and Good Citizenship in the Television Community. The actress has authored a book: The Brooke Book and On Your Own. In compliance with her professional career, she keeps on being an ardent pleader for rights of children .

The famous actress unveiled to the Associated Press, that she is currently writing a book about postpartum depression. The book is titled Down Came the Rain" and is expected to be released next spring. There she shares her experience and sheds light on the problem which the book focuses on.
The actress has a recently-born daughter named: Rowan Francis.
