Christina Aguilera
Biography |
Christina Maria Aguilera makes it to the daylight on December 2nd, 1980. Her veins contain a true blood mixture: her father comes from Ecuador and her mother is Irish. She grows up in Wexford, Pennsylvania.
Her divine voice starts enchanting the public when she is still too young to be taken seriously. At 12, Christina becomes a member of the notorious The Mickey Mouse Club, performing as a "Mouseketeer" along with
Britney Spears, Keri Russell, and J.C. Chasez.
The talented young singer stays in the show until 1998, when she moves to Tokyo. Following is a series of records with the Japanese star Keizo Nakanishi and later - a tour throughout Japan.
Her next performance takes place in Transylvania, Romania.
However, the real success comes when she sends a demo record to Disney's producers, who at this time work hard over the animation movie Mulan. After casting their professional "ears' at the demo performance of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Run to You", they come unanimously to the conclusion that they have finally found the voice they've been needing recently. Embracing this discovery of theirs, they foster the birth
of a new singing pearl on the global pop scene.
Two days later, she records her hit "Reflection" for Mulan, thus winning the Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song for a Motion Picture.
She performs such a remarkable presentation of "Reflection" that her 1999 debut album is sold in over 250,000 for a week only.
She wins the critical acclaim for presenting a style that brings exciting colorful diversion to the music world, combining dancing with pop, ecclesiastical singing and even R&B.;
A single hit single is a sufficient incentive for victory bells to jingle for Christina at the following Grammy Award, where she takes the award for Best New Female Artist.
As to her personal life, rumors have it that she has reached intimacy with Enrique Iglesias, Fred Durst and MTV's Carson Daly.
On occasion of her Latino-American origin, she records her Spanish album Mi Reflejo, containing the Spanish version of the marvelous "Genie In A Bottle" ("Genio Atrapado").
