Eva Mendes is the youngest of four children in her family. She was born on March 5, 1978. Both her parents originate from Cuba.
When she is a child, her family moves to Miami and Los Angeles afterwards. Her interests in the beginning point to interior design and marketing and have
nothing to do with Hollywood.
She gets involved in showbusiness by chance. This happens during a summer vacation while she studies Marketing at California State Northridge. Eva takes
part in several photo sessions to make some helpful money. However, her true chance comes up when an agent sees a picture of hers in the house of one of her
neighbors who is a photographer. He tries to convince the future star to quit her studies and dedicate herself to actorship.
Her first appearances can be noticed in music videos such as: "Hole In My Soul" of Aerosmith and "Miami" by Will Smith. Eva also marks some TV
performances, including her role in Mortal Kombat: Conquest and ER in 1998. The same year she appears on the big screen in the movie Children of the Corn V:
Fields of Terror.
Eva also takes part in the comedy A Night at the Roxbury, and some short appearances later she takes part in Urban Legends: Final Cut. The great success,
however, strikes her when she takes the role of Denzel Washington's wife in Training Day.
Two years later, in 2003, she is committed again, this time with Mike Epps in All About the Benjamins. Then she is acknowledged to be both a beautiful and
a talented Latino star. The same year Eva takes part in Fast 2 Furious. She can be seen in movies such as Desperado II: Once Upon a Time in Mexico (starring
Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek), Out of Time (again with Denzel Washington) and the Farrelly brothers' Stuck On You (starring Matt Damon and Greg
Kinnear).
