Born 34 years ago in Crieff, Scotland, Ewan does not need much
time to appear in the focus of spotlight. He was acknowledged to be one of
the most rapidly
ascending stars in Hollywood. With his profound portrayal of a heroin addict
in Trainspotting Ewan turns into an emblematic figure for new age cinema.
His
notable big screen presence is preceded by a considerable television
experience. His credits from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama bring
him a chance
to fulfill his acting skills, taking part in a good deal of TV projects such
as: Dennis Potter's musical comedy Lipstick on Your Collar (1993),
historical
adaptation Scarlet and Black, Tales From the Crypt (the Cold War episode) etc.
After hitting the big screen, Ewan simply takes it by storm. Debuting with
Bill
Forsyth's episodic Being Human, he rapidly collects speed, making it to
motion pictures such as the thriller Shallow Grave (1994), British parable
Blue
Juice, Peter Greenaway's The Pillow Book and the elegant historical comedy
Emma (1996), Brassed Off (1996), Nightwatch, The Serpent's Kiss (1997), A
Life
Less Ordinary (1997). Among all this succession of movie roles stands out
his portrayal in Danny Boyle's Trainspotting. For his noteworthy role Ewan
successfully loses 30 pounds and shaves his head to reach a stunning drug
addict aspect. His following notable appearance is his work for the Star
Wars
prequels that make him a worldwide favorite as young Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ewan's
success on the big screen as an actor is accompanied by some production
activity
due to his production company, Natural Nylon, which he co-founds with fellow
actors Jude Law and fellow-Trainspotter Jonny Lee Miller. Another notable
role
of his is Moulin Rouge's young poet who gets entangled in the sins of Paris
at the end of 19th century and the voluptuous appearance in David
Mackenzie's
erotic drama Young Adam. McGregor's latest projects are the
computer-animated family film Robots that he lends his voice to and sci-fi
thriller The Island.

Nature activist Ewan McGregor happened to encounter a wild polar
bear that he found more thrilling than any of the movies ha has taken part
in. It must have
been pretty a big thrill given Ewan stars in the episodes of the most
epochal special-effect movie trilogy: Star Wars. In his words, the meeting
with the
wild beast was powerful and complex, bordering on melancholy. July 25, 2005
Ewan McGregor has been selected to star in the latest project of Peter
Capaldi dubbed "The Great Pretender". The movie will be supported
financially by Relativity Media with an $18 million budget. According to the
project, Ewan will portray four different characters that would be a great
challenge to his acting abilities. Filming is expected to begin in early
2006 in London. McGregor will soon be seen in the drama "Stay," in the
stellar company of Naomi Watts and Ryan Gosling. September 9th, 2005
