Farrah Fawcett was the most photographed woman during the 1970s. Farrah Leni Fawcett was born on February 2, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Texas. When she was a little girl her beauty was exceptional. Passers-by used to stop her mother on the street and stand in admiration before little Farrah's angelic features. During her years at the high school and later at the University she was always surrounded by admirers. Many of her acquaintances never actually forgot her. Farrah kept receiving letters from them years after she parted ways with them. In 1965 she enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin as a microbiology student but soon found out that her vocation was art. Farrah was chosen one of the 10 most beautiful girls at the college. A picture of hers accidentally got in the hands of David Mirish, a show business publicist in Los Angeles, who offered Farrah a job and a career in Hollywood. She refused under the pretence that parties and friends were more than enough for her and that she wanted to take a rest. Two years later, though, tables had turned and Farrah decided that she wanted to try her luck in Hollywood. She was then dating her college football sweetheart Greg Lott, who took their parting easily. Farrah had no sooner arrived in LA than she became famous. She started to appear in TV commercials and shows such as The Dating Game (1969), The Partridge Family (1970) and many others. The last show in which she starred was Charlie's Angels (1976-1977). Farrah then quit appearing in TV serials and began to make movies, showing the world that she not only possessed good looks and sex appeal but also a sense for acting. Farrah starred in films such as The Burning Bed (1984), Nazi Hunter: The Beate Klarsfeld Story (1986) and Extremities (1986). Farrah was married to the actor Lee Majors. After they divorced she had a 17-year long relationship with Ryan O'Neal. They have a child named Redmond. |
