Heather Locklear
Biography |
Heather Dean Locklear was born on September 25 1961 in Los Angeles,
California. The beautiful blue-eyed blond graduated from the UCLA as a
psychology major, but psychology didnt become her vocation. On several
commercials castings Heather caught the eye with her beauty and presence.
She then took a drama course. Soon she started to appear on the TV, which
further encouraged her to continue her drama studies. In the beginning of
the 1980s Heather starred in broadcasts such as Chips, Eight Is Enough
and The Fall Guy. Later she was given a role in Twirl. Her development as
an actress Heather owes mostly to the TV producer aron Spelling. In 1982
Spelling introduced her to the team that was shooting Dynasty, and Heather
took the role of Samantha Josephine, or better known among the TV audience
- Sammi Jo. And although she played other roles for the TV as well, it was
the seven years Heather spent as Sammi Jo that in fact propelled her into
stardom. As for the big screen, she starred in the horror movie
Firestarter, in which she partnered with Drew Barrymore. In 1989 Heather
starred in The Return of the Swamp Thing, for which she was given the 1990
Razzie award in the Worst Actress in a Film category. In 1985 Heather
married Tommy Lee the drummer for the rock band Motley Crue. She also
appeared in the TV films Rich Men, Single Women, Lethal Charm, Dynasty: The
Reunion, Highway Heartbreaker, and Illusions. Aaron Spelling gave Heather a
role in his Melrose Place production. Initially she turned down his offer
claiming she was too old for that soap opera but eventually accepted the
role of Amanda Woodward, which became her perfectly. Beside Melrose Place,
in which Heather appeared from 1993 to 1999, she also starred in several
movies including Wayne's World, The First Wives Club, Money Talks and
Double Tap. She was also invited to star in the ABC serial Spin City, in
which Heather once again proved that shes a TV star. Heather parted with
Tommy Lee in 1992 and in 1994 she married Bon Jovi guitarist Richie
Sambora. In 1997 their first child Ava Elizabeth was born. |
