John Mayer is one of those guys whose dedication to music and
natural makings join forces to turn a cute teenage boy into a mature blues
star. Born 29 years ago in Bridgeport, Connecticut, John develops an early
liking to music under the influence of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix.
His passion for blues sends him to the Berklee College of Music, but before
long he drops out due to his restless search for the freedom of expression
in music. He then moves to Atlanta, Georgia to record an independent album
named Inside Wants Out (1999) that is pretty indicative of his emotional
status at that time. One year later John enters into a recording contract
with Columbia Records, that notice Mayers performance at the South By
Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. In 2001 the contract gives birth
to Mayers first official album, Room For Squares, that earns him a great
deal of awards (2003 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance-Your
Body is a Wonderland, 2003 Radio Music Award for Artist of the Year) and
nominations (2002 MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist, 2003 Grammy
Award for Best New Artist, 2003 American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock
Male Artist, 2003 MTV Music Video Award for Best Male Video-Your Body is a
Wonderland, 2005 Grammy award for Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal
Performance - the song Daughters). The huge success of his debut efforts
gives him the courage to undertake a world tour that takes his music to
Europe, Asia and all around North America. The tour leads to a double live
album (Any Given Thursday) which is released in early 2003, and the
inspiration he gains from the public makes him release another well-selling
album, Heavier Things, later the same year. Johns successful career earns
him a place at the music channel VH1 where he acts as a Host to the delight
of all his fans around the world. Johns recent releases, the 2005s live
album Try!, and this years Continuum, his most soulful set to date, show
remarkable growth in emotions and outlook on life.

Talented singer-guitarist John Mayer reportedly decided to copy the life
style of his music idol and partner on a recent musical project in England -
Eric Clepton. Mayer was so impressed with Claptons collection of classic
sports cars that the fist thing he did when going back to New York from
England was to buy a $134,000 Porche Turbo S. However, after the spontaneous
pursuit of a new lifestyle, he realized that the efforts did not make sense,
as this change was not for him. After selling the sports car he said: I
don't need another thing in my life that's gonna possibly take me out"
