Born in Austin, Texas on November 2nd, 1978, Nelly hits the world
hip-hop scene after the success of his solo 2000 release Country Grammar,
when he is just 22. The debut album of the hip-hop and pop superstar
captivates the audiences with three big hits (including "Ride With Me") and
deservedly earns him three Grammy awards. Nellys trademark is a stylish
band-aid on one cheek, but this is definitely not the only feature that
makes him discernible among the great deal of names on the hip-hop stage. A
good proof is the 2002 album Nellyville, whose hit singles "Hot in Herre"
and "Dilemma" spread his fame worldwide. Nellys rise to global stardom does
not make him lay on his laurels. Two years later only he launches two new
albums simultaneously - Sweat and Suit, that immediately turn into
chart-toppers. Apart from his magnificent performance as a singer, Nelly is
as energetic and productive in the field of business. He is owner of his the
company Derrty Entertainment, found in 2003. The same year Nelly releases
his own energy drink called "Pimp Juice," and in 2004 he becomes a minority
owner of the NBA's Charlotte Hornets basketball team.
