Ursula Andress was born in 1936 in Bern, Switzerland. When she began her career she was known as Ursula Parker. She became world-famous with her role in Dr. No (1962). When Sean �James Bond� Connery saw her wearing bikini in the famous scene at the beach in Dr. No, he �forgot� his dangerous mission right away focusing his attention entirely on Ursula. During the 1950s she took part mostly in European productions. After moving to Hollywood Ursula starred in some of the best movies for the 1960s including Fun in Acapulco (1963), Four for Texas (1963), Woody Allen's What's New, Pussycat (1965) and the adventure classic She (1965). Ursula continued appearing in the movies and on TV until the 1990s, the most impressing roles from that period being The Fifth Musketeer (1979), Clash of the Titans (1981), Falcon Crest (1981) and Peter the Great (1986). In 1964 Ursula won the Golden Globe Award for most promising beginner. Her sex appeal could make any man jump in the fire for her. From 1957 to 1966 she was married to John Derek, the actor from Exodus (1960). Other celebrities whom Ursula was dating at one time or another include James Dean, Marlon Brando, John DeLorean, Dennis Hopper, Ryan O'Neal and Peter O' Toole. When she was 44 she bore a child from Harry Hamlin, who is 15 years younger than her. In January 1999 the Playboy magazine placed Ursula at the 19th position in the "100 Sexiest Stars of the Century" chart. |
