Virginia Madsen Virginia Madsen, nicknamed Gina, was born on September 11th, 1963. Her father Cal Madsen is a fireman and her mother Elaine Madsen - a writer. She has a brother - the actor Michael Madsen (Quentin Tarantino's best friend) who was born on September 25th, 1958. Virginia spends her childhood period learning to dance and taking lessons in actorship. After graduating from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois, Virginia continues her actorship commitment at Ted Liss Acting Studio, Chicago. In 1989 she meets the actor Danny Huston, but three year later they separate. In 1994 Virginia gives birth to a son named Jack. The baby's father is the actor Antonio Sabato Jr. Virginia manifests her acting talent while taking part in local productions, before deciding to move to L.A. in 1983, at the fragile age of 19. She marks a debut in the teenager comedy Class (1984). That year turns out to be successful for Gina. Following is a participation in Steve Barron's sci-fi Electric Dreams. She also appears in David Lynch's adaptation of Frank Herbert's fantasy novel, Dune. The following years Gina appears as a guest to some shows such as: The Hitchhiker (1987) and Moonlighting (1989). At that time she keeps on working on the silver screen and takes part in Fire with Fire (1986), Slam Dance (1987), Mr. North (1988), and Hot to Trot (1988). Gina participates in Dennis Hopper's adaptation on Charles Williams' romance-drama book, The Hot Spot(1990). She plays the leading role of the student Helen Lyle in the horror movie Candyman (1992). The following year Gina dedicates more time to her son. In 1997 she gets back to the big screen taking part in Francis Ford Coppola's The Rainmaker, �daptation of John Grisham's thriller novel. Gina spends the end of 90s performing on TV, co-hosting the CBS' show Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack, and guest starring the NBC's series Frasier. The 2000s saw her in such movies as Lying In Wait (2000), After Sex (2000), Almost Salinas (2001), American Gun (2002), and Artworks (2003), as well as Nobody Knows Anything! (2003). She also starred as Rebecca Sandstrom in the TV series American Dreams from 2002 to 2003.
